In the universe of "Elseworld's Finest: Supergirl & Batgirl", Hawkwoman is a fierce warrior from the planet Thanagar and a member of the Justice Society. She has a much stronger personality, loaded with weapons such as shurikens, swords, and claws, and her body is pure ripped muscle, yessire; and she is one of the big guns along with Wonder Woman, Big Barda, and Green Lantern.
When the Justice Society found Supergirl, they took her in and raised her as a daughter; each member of the team served as a parental figure and provided her with support, each in their own way. Because Hawkwoman and Green Lantern Abin Sur had been to Krypton before the planet was destroyed, they could reminisce it with their "daughter".
It is not specifically stated that this Hawkwoman is Shayera Thal, but the red hair, her thanagarian origin, and her basic personality definitely indicate that this is our winged wonder!
