While the sovereign of the seas creates a distraction to get the oil creature's attention at a refinery, the hawks release all the detergent a la dispersant on top of it, with incredible results.
The detergent immediately initiates a chemical reaction that dissolves the monster's crude oil body, and its roars can be heard as it disperses harmlessly in one of the large containers in the refinery.
With the menace of the terrible crude oil monster over, the Super Friends have just enough time left for your typical end-of-segment joke, pose, and hahaha! The End.
Once you have paid close attention to the events of this story, it is not hard to realize how reality sometimes imitates fiction. BP, Gulf, Oil Spill, Crude Menace, Dispersant, Natural Disaster. It's scary to think how similar real life was to a campy TV cartoon from the 80's.
