The undead King of Atlantis draws first blood by tearing the hearts out of some soldiers, and telepathically calling all kinds of undersea monstrosities. Tempest uses his magic against Aquaman with no success, and then Mera uses her trident to stab him in the chest.
It is now when Mera and Tempest realize that Arthur was not the only one who came back from the grave; Garth's sweethearts Dolphin and Tula -Aquagirl- are back as well! Aquaman throws Mera on the rocks, takes her trident, and asks her whether she still misses little Arthur Jr. While Dolphin and Tula attack Tempest. 
Comment: Mera kicks ass #1. She doesn't let her feelings cloud her actions and immediately launches an attack against the Black Lantern. Ivan Reis' pencils are simply beautiful, and you can truly appreciate the effort Johns is making to ensure that everyone gets familiar with Mera. This was the creepiest sequence of the entire issue; you thought things were bad enough with an undead Aquaman, but then Dolphin and Tula appear as well? And what about the dead sharks attacking the soldiers? Oh man... this is just frightening!
Then, Aquaman utters: "I am still your King and you will be my Queen!"
