Mera and Tempest return to Amnesty Bay. She's finally agreed to move Aquaman's body and have it buried in Atlantis. Mera tells Garth she's doing it only so he will gain acceptance as the new King; she's doing it for him, not for the people of Atlantis, who she clearly resents. Tempest promises to bring peace to the kingdom, while Mera warns him they are violent people who hold a grudge against the surface.
When they finally make it to Tom Curry's lighthouse, Mera and Tempest discover with horror that Arthur's grave has been desecrated. Tempest quickly jumps to conclusions about who might have commited such an atrocity, but their surprise is even bigger when the reanimated corpse of their beloved King Arthur stands before them!
Comment: This is just the start, and I cannot be more excited! Mera had more screen time in this issue than Green Lantern himself, and that makes me very happy! This first scene just makes you jump off your chair: The lighthouse, the fog, the graves, and the undead...the King is back! What will Mera do?
To be continued...
